Final Exam Blog Post: A GREAT Semester !

Electronic Media Production II , also known as EMPII is the second part of the course Electronic media production. this course focuses of electronic media and all its facets from radio, to social media, and different presentation style websites. this class allows to the explore the history and need for the various electronic media sources we use on a daily bases. although it resembles greatly a social media class, its so much more. the class is very hands on and with every project you learn more  about the people around you, and how to better use the things we may not the full potential of.

One of the things we discussed was Twitter. Twitter was created by Jack Dorsey in 2006. finding inspiration form the short yet descriptive conversations of medial dispatchers he came up with his 140 character idea, which expanding to 280 this year. my twitter handle is @LoverandWriter ,I tweet as often as I can. finals eek has been busy so tweeting like how I would like isn't really an option. I like for my timeline to be christian based, inspirational and full of fashion. some people I follow are Sarah Jakes, Stephan Curry, Lebron James, Vouge, Ayesha Curry, Robert Blue, Jay Z, BuzzFeed, Teen Vogue, Seventeen Magazine, FashionBomb Daily. 

                                       

LinkedIN is another soacial media site we discussed. Linkedin in now the go to place for your professionals there you can connect and network with future employers, other employees and supervisors. this is like your online resume. people get to see teethings that you have ben working on and you can endorse a skill or be endorsed for a skill. here is my Linkedin . updating and keeping up with you linked is just like continuously updating your resume and sending it out to employers. it is  very important.      

                                                       

We also discussed Pinterest, this is a site that I have grown to love and really appreciate. The quality of photos and how great is is at giving you visuals for different search topics is amazing. Pinterest is like am online collage. you can put together just about any pictures. its great for people who are into fashion also. This is my Pinterest . I have pinned images of my favorite celebrities or just iconic people, bedroom ideas. hair ideas, and clothing ideas. 

                                           

We also discussed Prize. Press is a unique slideshow and presentation online site. it is so cool in the wide range of templates and affects, it transforms any boring powerpoint into a fun interactive presentation. Press is great for college students, though it is very tedious to use and takes some time get use to,onece you get a hang of it, its simple. for this class I created a Prezi that showed my top ten favorite Disney movies. We also did a green screen project in this class called; " Where I Want to be"/ Greenscreen this project was so fun and exciting. the project called for us to take a picture in front of the green screen and use it to put oursevles into a setting that shows wee want want to be, visit or do in the future. we had to use adobe Premeire to edit ourselves in the new setting.  As a class we got to see the creative side of the people around us and we were able to get a little more insight on who they were as people and their goals and aspirations. for my project I chose to insert myself on the sideline of a NBA dunk contest, which I somewhere I would love to be one day. at first id didn't like this project because I thought I was confined to using adobe Premeire to edit, which is mainly a video editing tool. photoshop is what I need to make my picture look realistic. when I found out that I could use htoshopp, which was a little late, I made a few edits and tried to fix it as much as I could. when using photoshop you don't need a green screen. Having worked with the green screen since my sophomore year, I was fully aware with how to use it and what it entailed.

Finally, one of the last things we've worked on as a class was the Kizoa Project. Kizoa is a new fund nd excited way to make a movie, slideshow or collage. was so special about kizoa is the infinite amount of transitions, affects, and animations that you can put directly on pictures. I think that is so call and I will definitely be using Kizoa for other projects. I think I would have liked it ore if this wasn't the very last project of the semester, because I couldn't really spend a lot of time and attention to the site with all the finals and studying I'm doing. however I am really pleased with how my kizoa came out. we had go around campus and find the various bulldogs that we see, take a picture and incorporate it inout kizoa video. I had so much fun in this class. you definitely learn a lot abut the tings that you use on a daily bases, and you learn new ways to do the old things you've been doing. I feel like I'm coming out with a better understanding of social media and a want to be more involved with the would and people around me. this class was very hands on and allowed me to also practice my public speaking skills being that we had to present every project that we did. because of tis class I am now an avid user of interest and am fully aware of new presentation platforms. thank you Mr. Harwood for a great semester !!! 

Where I want to be .... #NBASeason

NBA season is finally here and like any NBA fan my wish is to one day be on the sideline of a dunk competition and experience something great like this. honestly I just want to be at the game, in person, chilling near the court with some of my favorite players. What NBA fan wouldn't want that ?

I completed this project by using both adobe premier pro and Photoshop. I used adobe Premeire to color correct the green screen using ultra key and to insert myself into the photo. I used photo shop to make my image size small so that I would be able to blend in somewhat amongst the crowd.

This project was very tedious and frustrating because I felt like I clove made it look more realistic by just using photo shop and a different picture that I didn't take on the green screen . but to stay true to the assignment I made sure to incorporate using adobe premiere. 

Now seeing the finished product I'm happy and really excited that NBA season is back. It is  truly one of the highlights of my year. I always usually dread football season and hope that basketball season comes early, every year! 

My Top 10 Favorite Disney Movies, Prezi Style !

As a 90s baby I was allowed to have experienced some of the most amazing Disney animation and real life films. They’ve progressed from black and white movies to currently 3D animation movies like Moana. The Prezi below describes my top 10 favorite Disney Movies of all time.

This blog post was created to highlight the effectiveness of using Prezi to created presentations. I was able to come up with this cool slideshow in about an hour, with amazing graphics and themes provided by Prezi.


A prezi is a presentation of text and visuals that you  can zoom in and out of with the click of a mouse.  You can show a your new prezi to others on a computer through your prezi account, or you can link to them, you can even use prezi on your phone.

This great invention has been saving the lives of college students and common presenters since April 5, 2009. just like Disney films, the technology that goes into making Prezi great continues to grow. I loved making this prezi, it was super easy and fun to play with. I wanted my presentation to look as sparkly as possible and I was able to do that using Prezi. this is a great alternative to creating a powerpoint.

PINTEREST !

Pinterest is the best site for creatives and visual people. it is a free App where users can upload, save sort and manage images. its your own social media scarp book!

Pinterest was created in 2010, its one of the newer social media platforms. Ben Silbermann, Evan Sharp and Paul Sciarra created Pinterest. the first prototype was launched in March 2010 and made available to a small group of colleagues and family members.

a person who is on Pinterest is most likely looking up different images that align with their interest, pinning the images and creating boards. these pictures are known as ideas. helping people to get a visual of maybe something they want to try or buy in the future.

Pinterest can be used for many reason. Alot of consumers go on Pinterest to see visuals of a product that they would like to buy and of maybe different ways to use it. Sellers and big companies use Pinterest also, to get inspiration on the next product that they should create or to see which product their consumers like the most.

People who just love posting their creations use Pinterest also. like those who are into nail art. they can post their nail art and possibly get many new customers. while also creating a following/fan base.

Forever 21 uses Pinterest and they use it to show case how you can put some of their pieces of clothing together to make a full complete outfit. forever21 relays the message of "whole" with their Pinterest. making it known that you can come to them for al your fashion needs. they have clothes, shoes, and accessories to complete an entire outfit, for a great price.  they have 458,674 followers and are following 69. Forever 21 has 635 pins and over 10 boards.

My story boards are titled; Bedroom ideas, Faves, and Satin. Bedroom ideas are comprised of pretty vibrant colored blankets and walls, just thing that I think I can do to my room. I am no longer living on campus and for a while was searching for colors to paint my room . Faves is the board of all the women that inspire me in some way. from fashion to career these are all women that I look to to feel inspired as far as celebrities. my Satin board is comprised of my favorite satin looks. I  think it is such a pretty fabric.


I love Pinterest. I really enjoy searching for pictures and finding the best of the best. the picture quality on Pinterest is always amazing. you can grab photos that yo may have never seen before with professional quality. Pinterest is definitely growing as more people turn to Pinterest instead of google images.

Meet Ashley !

Ashley Nicole Hendricks, also known as member of the 9:15 crew. She walks into class late as always, wearing a bright smile and a new look. Even the annoyance of a comment about being late from the professor can’t keep her down. With every day comes a new fashion adventure. She makes it clear that she is a shopaholic and loves fashion.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York she now resides in St. Matthews South Carolina. Majoring in Broadcasting at SC State she says that “Everything about her freshmen year was memorable".

Ashley is leaving her mark here at SC State, being a host for the 2017 GreekNiq showcase and being Part of the exciting cast for the new campus show; The Take.

Prayer and her love for SC States familiar environment allows her to make it through the day. She hopes that she continues to  grow spiritually, attain good grades and land a great internship.

Determination is what her parents Scoti Washington and Larell Hendricks instilled in. That same determination will hopefully allow her to get her dream car; a Lamborghini.

This Taurus born May 13, 1997 says, “I have no doubts that I will become successful in life”

 She hopes to one day be a host on shows like the real and enjoys reading Magazines like Essence and Us Weekly.

Ashley admits,  " I am  spoiled, but also kind hearted, and that praying everyday keeps me grounded."
She also desribes herself as confident and classy she hopes to one day move to Los Angelos, California to continue her career in media.

Ashleys favorite subject is English, She enjoys listening to music. Especially Rhythm and Blues, her favorite R&B artist is Chris Brown. Her favorite show is reality show “ Love and Hip Hop”

Ashley’s vibrancy makes her a force to be reckoned with in the future entertainment industry.

Why Millineals Love TWITTER!

Millennials love Twitter. Never before has expressing ones thoughts in 140 characters or less has become so popular. These days you can find out the most pivotal and necessary news on Twitter. This one app has become a major platform used by celebrities, philanthropist, jobs and politicians. If you don’t have a Twitter there’s a good chance that you find out a lot of what’s going on later than everyone else who has a Twitter.

President Obama made history when he used twitter to announce some major news while in office. Current president Trump also uses his Twitter for political reasons, some would say he has taken it too far. I would personally say some people just don’t need to a twitter a he is one of them.

Jack Dorsey is the creator of this amazing App and says he got his idea for short sentences by hacking into EMTs radio frequency and ultimately mimicking how they communicated with each other. They used short sentences and terms that said a lot and had great importance without saying much.

Twitter launched in July 2006 and since then it has become a major part of society. Inventing the hashtag and creating dialogues on issues that people would have never been able t talk about. Twitter itself has started many movements geared toward positivity and has a big effect on the growing sense of unity among millennials.

Twitter currently has over 328 million monthly active users as of last count ranging from people like Lebron James , Stefan Curry and Sarah Jakes Roberts, in whom are all people that I follow. they are leaders and great at what they do. I love to follow people who inspire me to be great. 

 Twitter houses the thoughts and protests of many philanthropist constantly fighting for change. Twitter has allowed many new music artist to be able to share their craft, and business owners to be able to grow globally

Lebron James recently took to twitter to talk about the Presidents "revoked invitation" to the white house after Stefan Curry already had declined the offer, this had twitter in a frenzy. it showed that athletes didnt agree with his remarks calling Colin Kapernick a "son-of'a'B&^%" for his silent protest againt police brutality.

Why You need to be on LinkedIn

LinkedIn was created in 2002 and has grown and become one of the main cites for professional online job recruitment. It is also a place where people can showcase their resume, connect with new meet and discover job opportunities. Professionals use linked in, job recruiters, campus recruiters. People looking for jobs and people looking to connect with others professionally are the main people that would use Linkedin.

A lot of college students are realizing its importance because we now know that the linked in profile is what most employers look at when searching for a prospective employee.

The best feature on Linkedin is the endorsement feature.

You can say something good and impressive about yourself and the people you’re connected with can vouch for you. Or they can endorse you for a skill that you didn’t write because they think you’re great at it. When looking at the different sites of people that I know I realize that some common mistakes are having misspelled words and not selling themselves enough. There is so much you can say about being a broadcasting student and you can actually list all he many things that you’ve done within your major. Which if you’re a broadcasting student at South Carolina State University is a lot. College students have to remember that we are professionals so it’s okay to talk about ourselves in that way and put that into the world on our Linkedin's. 

It is also important to have a very professional and clear profile picture so that future employers can get the right impression of you. This is my profile picture. I chose it because it shows strength, happiness and peace all in one picture. which are all the things I would dedicate to any position.

With my Linkedin sight I try to convey the fact that I am a well-rounded multi media specialist. You give me a job where I need to write, edit, and create events or to produce and edit a video I can do it because I’ve spent time being trained to do those things. Linked in is such a great and useful sight, no wonder more and more people are suing it. It’s the perfect online resume and job recruitment tool. If you are not on Linkdin, you need to join now!

Its A Look!

Going Out on Friday Night, its important to be super cute but comfortable because you never know what the night may bring you. Im wearing a silver metallic skirt with a white fuax corset shirt and white pixie vans. with very little makeup and my new glasses as an accessory I was able to pull off this very stylish look.

2017 Solar Eclipse at SC State

On August 21, 2017, South Carolina State University had the pleasure of being in the range of fatality for the once in a lifetime viewing of fatality of the 207 Solar eclipse. People came all the way from Australia and Germany just to witness this natural phenomenon. It was truly a glorious day! SC States Band was in full harmony and the cheerleaders led the way for school spirit. There were different stations set up to share information from NASA, religion and many other things. There were many food vendors ranging from Chick Fil A to the Italian ice! SC State was the place to be that day. The positive energy was infectious! This was a great moment for nature lovers. below I have some pitures that show the rare beauty of this solar eclipse in different forms!
